A CNC plasma cut address sign created as a gift for my parents.
A CNC plasma cut address sign created as a gift for my parents.
A super fun project learning how to use a CNC plasma cutter. The outline is of Orcas Island, the island where our family has a cabin. I found a picture of the outline of the island online (which actually came from a picture of a tattoo on someone) and used that to create a .DXF file that was uploaded to the CNC software. After cutting, I spray painted the outline black to give a nice backdrop for the exposed steel numbers. The numbers were also cut on the plasma and were attached to the sign using standoffs to create depth.Â
